      I am a 8th generation Vermonter, descended from Mayflower stock.  My great-grandfather, great grandmother and great-great-grandfather were all artists.  I am a painter and political cartoonist.  My "Art Heroes" are Goya, Daumier, Brueghel, Charles Addams, Edward Gorey, and, of course, the immortal Edward Hopper.  I have been the art teacher at the Browns River Middle School since 1981, and I have served as the President of the NVAA since 1995.  When I am away from my easel, I spend my time collecting 19th century photographs, and annoying my neighbors by practicing my fiddle.
