HOME PAGE EXCITING NEWS ABOUT THE 2009 JURIED SHOW! The Bryan Memorial Gallery is going to give as a SIX WEEK SHOW, using the ENTIRE GALLERY, from FEB 1ST THRU MARCH 15TH. This show will be in celebration of the BMG's 25th anniversary, and will take the place of our usual June Juried Show. The front gallery will be devoted to the History Of the NVAA, and will feature artwork by famous NVAA members of the past, as well as various displays about the history of our organization, from its founding in 1930 up through today. The back gallery will be for our usual juried art show, which will be run the same way we have always run our June Juried Shows. The theme for this year's juried show will be "Celebration!" If your membership in the NVAA began prior to 1990, or if you know the whereabouts of artists or NVAA artwork from the 1930's through the 1980's, please email Robert Waldo Brunelle (NVAA president) at brunelles3@aol.com ! THE DATES FOR THE SHOW ARE AS FOLLOWS (will be updated in the future, so keep watching!) Delivery of Historical NVAA Artwork to the BMG - week of Jan. 12 Mailing of Postcards - Jan. 16 Delivery of artwork to be juried - Week of Jan. 19th (dates and times TBA) Judging of artwork - Jan. 24th, with snow date of Jan. 25th Opening Reception- Feb. 1st Remember, when pricing your artwork, that the Bryan Memorial Gallery gets 40% on all sales. All artwork must be prepared as described below (also in the NVAA Handbook). All the usual Juried Show fees and rules apply to this show.

PREPARING YOUR FRAMES FOR THE BRYAN GALLERY In ADDITION to preparing your frames as described below, ALSO add eyehooks and wire as well, so that, if they sell your work, the buyer can take it home and hang it up right away! The screws described below, of course, should extend out BEYOND the eyehooks, so that the screw heads will catch the lip of the wall's hanging slots.

Be sure to
attach the official NVAA Juried Show labels
found on the Juried Show Form (in the newsletters)
on the back of each entry. No entry can exceed
42 inches on a side, including the
frame! Only paid-up members of the
NVAA can enter pieces in this show. All work entered in this show must be for sale! You may enter a piece that was rejected from a previous NVAA Juried show, but you may not enter a piece that has appeared before in any show at the Bryan Memorial Gallery (not just NVAA shows, but all BMG shows!). No reproduction prints are allowed, and all images must be original. Artwork depicting nudity is permitted, but artwork with graphic sexual or violent content will be refused. Entries that are not prepared as described above, or do not meet the above requirements will be rejected automatically, before they are seen by the judges! |
